Jesus, higher then all Angels!!!

Happy September 2013!
This week a co-leader Gwen had a brilliant idea, given to her by the spirit. It is to find a non-christian intended song an reword it as a song for or about what we believe.  No there are many songs that don't need any editing at all so it is really how the song touches you.
Also along with your song a scripture or passage that explains how you feel. Today I share my edited song "angels" by Robbie Williams and verse:

Hebrews 13:5
English Standard Version Anglicised (ESVUK)
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

"Jesus"
Original "Angel" by Robbie Williams
Edited by Sheila Limontas
For no commercial use intended

I sit and wait
Does a savior contemplate my fate
And he know
The place where I'll go
When I leave this world
'cos I have been told
That salvation lets my heart unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that I'm alone
I'm loving Jesus instead

[Chorus]

And through it all he offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall

Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call he won't forsake me
I'm loving Jesus instead

When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
He breathes flesh to my bones
And when I feel alone
I'm loving Jesus instead

[Chorus]

And through it all he offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call he won't forsake me
I'm loving Jesus instead

[Repeat Chorus]

Reflections of Me!

This month we are focusing on reflections and a definition I like is "a transformation of a figure in which each point is replaced by a point symmetric with respect to a line or plane"

I have been transformed and continue to be by Jesus; who is my single point of reference. That keeps me grounded and growing in my walk!

Psalm 63:4-8

The Message (MSG)
2-4 So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open,
drinking in your strength and glory.
In your generous love I am really living at last!
My lips brim praises like fountains.
I bless you every time I take a breath;
My arms wave like banners of praise to you.
5-8 I eat my fill of prime rib and gravy;
I smack my lips. It’s time to shout praises!
If I’m sleepless at midnight,
I spend the hours in grateful reflection.
Because you've always stood up for me,
I'm free to run and play.
I hold on to you for dear life,
and you hold me steady as a post.

Leave Tomorrow to Tomorrow!

Matthew 6:31-34

The Message (MSG)
30-33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

****I used to worry about everything under the sun; but God has beaten it into my soul that he got this! meaning my life. Now I am not saying that I don't worry anymore, what I am saying is that I don't dwell on things. I have a spirit of truth moving within me that KNOWS GOD IS IN CONTROL!

****Song for this blog - "Jesus take the wheel" by Carrie Underwood

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was so scared
She threw her hands up in the air
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Oh, Jesus take the wheel
Oh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me.
Oh, wow, ohhhhh.

Fear is a four letter word and we where taught the four letter word are bad. When you are fearful or afraid take a walk with Jesus in Matthew 6:28-34(NIV) he says 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Just replace clothes with what you are afraid of. There is only one thing the you should be fearful of and that is God. But he is a loving God and he will help you through you fear just take a walk with him.  This should help.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGDOMCGichU

Courage

If you would have told me that I would fast for seven days. I would have said that you are crazy. If you would have told me that I would give the guy I like a letter saying that I like him and want to go out with him. I would have said that you are out of your mind. But all of these things are true. I know that what you are thinking that these things are not that big but to me they are huge. The things that scare us might seem small to the next person but to you it is the biggest thing in the world. I am in the middle of my seven day fast and the Lord has done so much in my life already and I know that he will do more.  I would not say that I found my courage or that God gave me courage to do these things.  I say that I faith in God and that is all the courage that I need. I do not know what God is planning for the rest of my fast but I faith that it will be good.

Lord, I need a New Attitude!

So I was listening to Patti Labelle "New Attitude" and something clicked that living my life with an attitude like christ, will lead me to focus on fighting my own mind and the evil in and around me. I am spiritual mental boxer who is always learning to duck, tuck and roll! Laila Ali ain't got nothing on me!

Philippians 2:5-8

5-8 Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

Runnin' hot, runnin' coldI was runnin' into overload, it was extremeI took it so high, so lowSo low, there was nowhere to go like a bad dreamSomehow the wires uncrossed, my tables were turnedNever knew I had such a lesson to learn

I'm feelin' good from my head to my shoesKnow where I'm goin' and I know what to doI tied it up my point of viewI got a new attitude!
I'm in control, my worries are few'Cause I've got love like I never knewOoo, ooo, ooo, ooo, oooI got a new attitude!
I'm wearing a new dress, new hairBrand new ideas, as a matter of fact I've changed for goodIt must have been the cool night, new moon, slight changeMore than to figure oh but I feel like I should, yes
Somehow the wires uncrossed, my tables were turnedNever knew I had such a lesson to learn
I'm feelin' good from my head to my shoesKnow where I'm goin' and I know what to doI tied it up my point of viewI got a new attitude
I'm in control, my worries are few'Cause I've got love like I never knewOoo, ooo, ooo, ooo, oooI got a new attitudeOoo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
Somehow the wires uncrossed, my tables were turnedNever knew I had such a lesson to learn
I'm feelin' good from my head to my shoesKnow where I'm goin' and I know what to doI tied it up my point of viewI got a new attitude
I'm in control, my worries are few'Cause I've got love like I never knewOoo, ooo, ooo, ooo, oooI got a new attitude
Feelin', feelin'(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)From my head to my shoes(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)I'm loving you(I got a new attitude)
I got a new, new attitude!(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)Everything about be has changed(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)Baby I ain't the same(I got a new attitude!)
Oh I got a new, I got a new(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)I got a brand new, brand new(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo)I got a new

What A Friend We Have...

So in our women's worship tonight the theme was friendship:

Proverbs 18:24

New International Version (NIV)
24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 27:2-10

New International Version (NIV)
Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth;
an outsider, and not your own lips.
Stone is heavy and sand a burden,
but a fool’s provocation is heavier than both.
Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming,
but who can stand before jealousy?
Better is open rebuke
    than hidden love.
Wounds from a friend can be trusted,
    but an enemy multiplies kisses.
One who is full loathes honey from the comb,
but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet.
Like a bird that flees its nest
is anyone who flees from home.
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart,
and the pleasantness of a friend
    springs from their heartfelt advice.
10 Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family,
and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you—
better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.

Song -

What a Friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to
Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there
will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship
will be our sweet portion there.

Words: Joseph Scriven (1857)
